sam bruce
guitar | bass
Sam has been teaching technique and theory for more than 15 years, with nearly 3 decades of guitar experience to back it up. He started his music career on the streets of Nashville, working with and learning from some of the world’s greatest guitarists including Grammy-nominated guitar legend Paul Gilbert. An expert in the work of Hendrix and SRV, he toured for years as lead guitarist for the blues-rock band Drix, before heading west and leading Colorado’s bohemian art collective The Macabaret.
A graduate of Ohio’s Recording Institute, Sam has also worked as an engineer on hundreds of albums, including 311’s Stereolithic. Sam’s guitar work can be seen on stage in NYC and Philadelphia with his blues band Skunk, and locally with Asbury’s own desert-metal trio Doomsday Barbie.
