Need to change a service?

  • Enrollment for lessons and bands are on an ongoing basis, there are no breaks in between the semesters and enrollment is continuous through each semester. If you would like to stop lessons or a band, a 2-week notice is required before your next billing cycle.

  • Tuition Agreement:

    Lakehouse Music Academy (LhMA) tuition is due on the 1st of every month. A credit card is required to be kept on file for tuition at sign up. Tuition is a flat monthly fee. Most months have four (4) or five (5) lessons, and on rare occasions, three (3) lessons when in observance of major national holidays (see our calendar). Tuition is due on the first of each month and is billed automatically to a credit card on file. (“Auto-pay”). If tuition is not remitted after 15 days past the due date, a late fee of 5% will be added in addition to the outstanding balance. If payment is not received after 15 days of the first of the month, Lakehouse Music Academy retains the right to refuse any and all services until the account is cured or satisfactory payment arrangements have been made. Services include, but are not limited to, participating in any performance at the Academy or any other venue and any scheduled classes or programs.

    Big Gig Show Fees:

    A $50 Show Fee will be charged once every semester (February 1, June 1 and September 1). The show fee is required for participation in our Big Gig performance and only applies to every student performing in the Big Gig: Get Started, Core, and Night Session programs. If a family has multiple siblings performing in the Big Gig, each child must pay the show fee. The Show Fee is refundable if a student drops out of the semester before the Big Gig.

  • Membership Cancellation:

    • Membership may be cancelled by submitting our ONLINE CANCELLATION FORM

    • Cancellation Form must be received by the 15th of the month to take effect at the end of that month.

      • EXP: Cancellation Form received on the 16th of May is billed for June and takes effect at the end of June.

    • There are no exceptions.

    • You may withdraw the cancellation at any time before it takes effect but your teacher and/or time slot can not be guaranteed.

    • Active membership is mandatory to participate in any Lakehouse Music Academy activities and performances.  All registration(s) will be withdrawn at the time of membership cancellation.

    • All Make-up Lesson Credit(s) on your account expires at the time of the cancellation effective date.

    • Membership is not transferable.

    • Lakehouse Music Academy does not provide tuition refund under any circumstances.

    • Lakehouse Music Academy reserves the right to terminate membership, in which case prorated tuition will be refunded.

  • Semesters typically last the following lengths and months:

    Spring Semester (FEB - JUN)

    Summer Semester (JUN - SEP)

    Fall Semester (SEP - FEB)

    Each semester is bookended by the Big Gig, which dates vary from year to year, within those months outlined above.

  • Musico is where all lesson assignments and materials are kept. Students will use Musico for their private lessons and for band rehearsals.

  • Makeup Lesson Policy:

    Private Lesson Appointments

    Our teachers reserve time on their schedules, plan for your lessons, and invest in the long-term development of each student. To provide regular, quality lessons, the following policies need to be observed.

    1. No tuition credit or refund will be provided for missed lessons.

    2. A Make-up Lesson Credit will be issued when a lesson is cancelled with at least 24-hour advance notice (By email or online).

    3. Cancellations made with less than 24-hour notice will not qualify for a Make-up Lesson Credit (This includes being sick the day of a scheduled lesson).

    4. No more than three (3) Make-up Lesson Credits can be pending at a time per membership.

    5. It can be used to schedule a Make-up Lesson online or by email at any time with your teacher or other available teacher.

    6. Make-up Lessons cannot be rescheduled.

    7. Make-up Lesson Credit(s) expires 30 days at the time of membership  termination 

    Group Classes

    Makeup lessons are not offered for group classes.

    Holiday/Snow Closures

    Makeup lessons are not offered for holiday or snow closures. Tuition is based on a four (4) week month and months that contain five (5) weeks of lessons count as a makeup for holidays or snow days.

  • The Big Gig is our showcase event for all of our bands in the academy. Big Gig dates and venues are announced at the beginning of each semester. Each band will perform a 20-35 minute set of the songs they have been working on during the semester. Venues for the Big Gig change every semester, and are held at various music venues in the Jersey Shore area.

  • Student Code of Conduct:

    1. Students are expected to:

      1. Treat all of the equipment and members of the LhMA community with respect.

      2. Behave accordingly at all LhMA classes and events (on and off campus).

      3. Arrive promptly to all lessons, classes, and events.

    2. LhMA Substance Abuse Policy

      1. LhMA prohibits the use, possession, distribution, purchase, and sale of the following items including but not limited to: tobacco, alcohol, and drugs.

      2. LhMA students may not possess prescription drugs unless prescribed to the student by a licensed practitioner

      3. Weapons of any kind will not be tolerated at or around LhMA.

    Visitor/Parent Code of Conduct:

    1. Parents/guardians are expected to respect the allotted time for teachers and students.

    2. Parent/teacher conference time must be scheduled in advance.

    3. Parents must not disrupt teachers or students during class time.

    4. Parents are expected to arrive promptly when picking up students from classes at LhMA. Please encourage your child to wait in the academy until their designated parent/guardian arrives for pick up.

    5. Parents/guardians/visitors are expected to behave respectfully.

    Anti-harassment, Bullying and Cyberbullying Policy

    Students of Lakehouse Music Academy (“LhMA”) accused of harassment, bullying, or cyberbullying any fellow LhMA students, faculty, or staff members will be subject to having their enrollment revoked.

    Bullying includes cyberbullying and means inflicting physical hurt or psychological distress on one or more LhMA students, faculty, or staff members. It is further defined as unwanted and repeated written verbal, or physical behavior, including any threatening, insulting, or dehumanizing gesture, that is severe or pervasive enough to create an intimidating, hostile, or offensive educational environment; cause discomfort or humiliation; or unreasonably interfere with the individual’s LhMA educational performance or employment; and may involve but is not limited to: 1. Teasing; 2. Social Exclusion; 3. Threat(s); 4. Intimidation; 5. Stalking; 6. Physical violence; 7. Theft; 8. Sexual, religious, or racial harassment; 9. Public or private humiliation; and/or 10. Destruction of property.

    Cyberbullying means bullying through the use of technology or any electronic communication, which includes, but is not limited to, any transfer of signs, signals, writing, images, sounds, data, or intelligence of any nature transmitted in whole or in part by a wire, radio, electromagnetic system, photoelectric system, or photo-optical system, including, but not limited to, electronic mail, Internet communications, instant messages, or facsimile communications. Cyberbullying includes the creation of a webpage or weblog in which the creator assumes the identity of another person, or the knowing impersonation of another person as the author of posted content or messages, if the creation or impersonation creates any of the conditions enumerated in the definition of bullying. Cyberbullying also includes the distribution by electronic means of a communication to more than one person or the posting of material on an electronic medium that may be accessed by one or more persons, if the distribution or posting creates any of the conditions enumerated in the definition of bullying.

    Harassment means any threatening, insulting, or dehumanizing gesture, use of data or computer software, or written, verbal, or physical conduct directed against a LhMA student, faculty, or staff member that:

    1. Places a LhMA student, faculty, or staff member in reasonable fear of harm to his or her person or damage to his or her property;

    2. Has the effect of substantially interfering with a LhMA student’s educational performance or a LhMA faculty or staff member’s employment; or

    3. Has the effect of substantially disrupting the orderly operation of LhMA.

    Bullying and harassment also encompasses:

    1. Retaliation against a LhMA student, faculty, or staff member for asserting or alleging an act of bullying or harassment. Reporting an act of bullying or harassment that is not made in good faith is considered retaliation.

    2. Perpetuation of conduct listed in the definition of bullying or harassment by an individual or group with intent to demean, dehumanize, embarrass, or cause emotional or physical harm to a LhMA student, faculty, or staff member by:

    a. Incitement or coercion;

    b. Accessing or knowingly and willingly causing or providing

    access to data or computer software through a computer, computer

    system, or computer network within the scope of LhMA; or

    c. Acting in a manner that has an effect substantially similar to the

    effect of bullying or harassment.

  • We hold one student recital every semester, recital dates are announced at the beginning of each semester. This is a great opportunity for students to perform what they have been learning in their private lessons! Solo, duet, and trio performances welcome. Please reach out to your private teacher or fill out the form if you would like to sign up for a recital.
