A drummer turned singer and guitarist, Ryan Gordon has 12+ years of experience performing and songwriting. He's experienced in various styles on the drumset including Metal, Jazz, Latin, Hard Rock, Pop, Funk, and Country. All the while a guitarist well versed in Funk and Rock. Ryan has been a teacher at Lakehouse since the Fall of 2022, developing and practicing an adaptive teaching approach specific to any students’ needs! His lessons focus on building a strong foundation for skill while encouraging creativity and confidence. Ryan tailors each lesson to align with the student’s individual goals and learning style—whether a student is picking up drumsticks for the first time or refining advanced techniques. His goal is to empower his students to reach their full musical potential while enjoying their journey.

He began his musical journey in 2010 as a drummer, studying at Toms River Music Academy for 3 years, becoming exposed to various styles of playing alongside drum fundamentals. His path continued through drumline and concert performances. All the while, Ryan had expanded his skills, moving to piano and guitar. Learning fundamentals of music theory, and gaining a greater understanding of pitch and harmony. Through becoming a multi-instrumentalist, he began to understand the dynamics of each instrument in a band, as well as developing the ability for songwriting

Ryan continued to learn more skills related to music, he studied Audio Engineering through Ocean County Vocational Technical School, then Music Theory and Recording at Brookdale Community College. In 2018, Ryan founded Brookdale Community College’s Music Tech Club to provide a hands-on experience to students in a recording studio setting.

Over the past decade, Ryan has performed with and collaborated with many local artists across genres such as metal, pop, rock, punk, jazz, and country. He has performed in various venues across New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania, including The Stone Pony, Pianos (NY), The Chubby Pickle, Red Tank Brewery, and Asbury Park Convention Hall. In addition to drumming, Ryan has often served as the frontman of his own band, performing both original songs and covers. One of the highlights of his performing career was joining the Brookdale Community College Rock Band in Spring, 2018, a group in which he had the opportunity to open for the band Sublime with Rome at Asbury Park Convention Hall.
