Rob Tanico
Guitar | Bass | Piano
Originally hailing from Astoria, Queens, Rob Tanico started his professional musical career as a founding member of the New Jersey based acoustic trio, EMI/SBK recording artists Mr. Reality. Their debut album was produced by Danny Kortchmar, (Carole King, James Taylor, Don Henley), which featured Rob on bass and harmony vocals. In support of this record, the band toured nationally including opening slots for musical heavyweights such as Bob Dylan and Bon Jovi.
Mr. Reality evolved into Highway 9 including lineup additions and a more electric sound, securing them a deal with Epic records. Their album, "What in Samhill," produced Peter Collins (Indigo girls, Rush, Nik Kershaw), achieved critical acclaim and airplay across the country.
Having been influenced heavily by pop, rock and R&B, Rob’s approach to his instruments are melodic and soulful. Being a singer, songwriter, lead vocalist, keyboardist, guitarist, and production and remix artist, he has gone on to record, perform, and co write with various artists both national and local. Rob’s contributions can be heard on many recordings coming from the New York/New Jersey music scene.
