Chase Eck is a seasoned drummer and educator with 16 years of experience behind the kit. Specializing in jazz and jazz-fusion, he has performed extensively throughout the Tri-State area, including Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Jersey Shore, and North Jersey.

A former student of Lakehouse Music Academy, Chase returned as an instructor, bringing a deep understanding of both the technical and cognitive aspects of drumming. His teaching philosophy emphasizes the development of coordination as a fundamental pillar of drumming, alongside the acquisition of muscle memory as a means of refining technique and control. He approaches the drum set not just as a rhythmic foundation, but as a percussive instrument capable of a vast sonic range, encouraging students to explore tone and texture through varied techniques. Additionally, he instills an understanding of the conversational nature of music, helping students recognize how the drums interact dynamically within an ensemble, shaping and responding to musical dialogue.

As a performer, he draws inspiration from drumming greats like Nate Smith, Larnell Lewis, Ash Soan, Dafnis Prieto, and Yussef Dayes. His versatility has led him to work with singer-songwriters, alternative-rock/shoegaze bands, improvisational jazz-fusion groups, and alternative pop artists. In addition to performing, he is active in drum recording sessions, capturing dynamic and expressive performances across a variety of musical styles.

Whether on stage, in the studio, or in the classroom, Chase is dedicated to sharing his passion for drumming and helping students of all levels refine their craft.
