Boris Ivanov

Boris Ivanov is a Moscow-born, NYC area-based pianist, keyboardist, composer, and producer. In 2016 he earned his Master's Degree in Music Composition at NYU Steinhardt studying and working with Grammy-award winning composer and producer Michael Patterson. Since moving to the NJ/NYC area in 2004, he has been an active pianist and keyboardist, working in live and studio environments, and contributing to the vibrant music scene in the area as a key member of many diverse musical projects. He completed his B.Mus in piano performance at Montclair State University under prof. Mark Pakman, as well as earning an advanced piano certificate from the Moscow State Conservatory under Aleksey Nasedkin.
Boris has composed music for several award-winning films; and has served as composer, sound designer, and score supervisor on several projects by Newark-based DreamPlay Films, most recently working on the Transcend/Emerge series of concert films featuring the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra.
He is currently working as lead composer and sound designer on the highly anticipated Project Borealis video game. He is the founding member of his own multi-faceted and stylistically diverse project Lost Horse, which released its debut album “The Mine” in early 2021 and is poised to release a follow-up album in November. Boris resides in Newark, NJ, where he works as a studio/live musician, producer, audio engineer, educator, and composer.
