Ryan roberts

Guitar | Bass

Ryan Roberts started out on piano in grammar school and then switched over to guitar during his sophomore year in high school at age 16. He took a different approach in the world of music by studying and apprenticing in stringed instrument repair at the Eastern School of Fretted Instrument Repair in Freehold, where he later took a job in Pittsburgh as a third-party tech to Guitar Center. During this time, Ryan honed his skills on guitar and bass, having countless hours to test and play every instrument he worked on as well as having his own personal study.

It was also at this time, he found himself playing in numerous cover bands up and down the city. This would inevitably lead him to teach music when he moved back to New Jersey as a show director and guitar and bass teacher for 10 years at the School of Rock.

Ryan has pushed the boundaries of teaching contemporary music by bringing new ideas and concepts to the guitar and bass community. These concepts have developed over years of teaching students of all ages and all backgrounds. He challenges his students by helping develop their confidence to play and create what they feel, harnessing and embracing their creativity. He is solely engaged in the success of everyone he teaches, catering to those on an individual level knowing that everyone needs a slightly different gameplan than the other to achieve the same end result: to confidently create music as yourself, to tell your story with passion, to share your ideas while being open to others, to simply have fun.
