ALBIE MONTERROSA, music director

Singer/songwriter, recording artist and multi-instrumentalist Albie Monterrosa is the founder of deSoL, the Asbury Park, New Jersey based rock band with a latino soul. deSoL gained national touring success and radio acclaim in their 10 years together.

Albie founded deSoL in 2000 with the intention of mixing two worlds together; his latino heritage and the Rock music he was raised with. deSoL toured nationally for 7 years sharing marquees and tours with bands like R.E.M., Blues Traveler, Widespread Panic, The Legendary Wailers, Los Lonely Boys, Los Lobos, Suzanne Vega, Joan Osbourne, Paula Cole, and Dirty Dozen Brass Band. deSoL has appeared at a number of music festivals including Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Langerado, The All Good Festival, SXSW, and Austin City Limits. In late 2006, deSoL was asked to spend a month in the Middle East performing for the U.S troops in 5 different countries.

Four of deSoL's radio singles have charted nationally at the Triple A (Adult Album Alternative) radio format, with "Sing It All Night" climbing to #10 and "Karma" reaching #5. Their 2006 Christmas single "Little Drummer Boy" was the highest debuting Adult Contemporary radio single in billboard history! Albie says "hearing your songs on the radio and touching people with your own sound is like nothing else in this world. It is giving the world a piece of who you are, forever."  deSoL's live shows have been described as high energy, spiritually uplifting, dance and sweat your ass off revivals.

In 2008, Albie came off the road and was asked to be the Music Director at the School of Rock in Easton, PA, a position he grew to love. "Working with kids, teaching them the art of music, creativity, expression and performance has not only changed the kids' lives but enhanced my life. Through music and performance we encourage, build confidence and we give these kids a foundation to stand on and carry it with them into their daily lives". In 2012, Albie joined forces with Jon Leidersdorff, Janet Wheeler and the LHMA Staff to create a progressive school, the Lakehouse Music Academy, for students of all ages who are interested in all types of music. A haven in Asbury Park, NJ for the musician young and old, a place to learn, play, grow and create.  Albie is looking forward to welcoming all the students to LHMA and helping them in their musical journey.

JUAN O'GRADY, general manager

Growing up with an eclectic taste of music and a hunger to recreate it, Juan Julio O’Grady knew he wanted to make music from an early age. Studying music throughout New Jersey as a youth, he eventually started teaching at many different music schools, including the South Hackensack Paul Green School of Rock. Juan attended William Paterson University where he was accepted into the Jazz Studies program. He continued his education at the prestigious Berklee College of Music and from there moved to Los Angeles, California. Touring and performing all up and down the west coast and opening up for such acts as Alien Ant Farm and P.O.D., Juan refined his skills as a performer with many different artists of all different styles and genres. Juan then brought those skills to the musical education field where he taught Parent & Me groups and gave private lessons to many different Los Angeles Celebrity families. Juan then returned to his home state of New Jersey where he is looking forward to bringing his talent and knowledge to Lakehouse Music Academy and Asbury Park, “where music lives!”
